Do you ever feel like you're looking all over the internet for a cute boutique? Today I'm going to share with you one of my favs that's acually based out of NYC. They are super adorable clothing pieces and I adore their motto:
"Our customer is an independent woman, not a woman of independent means. She stands out in her own style, rather than following the fashion pack. And wherever she lives, she has a New York state of mind."
Here are a few of my current favs:
If you're ever in SoHo, I would definitely stop in and check them out! But for the rest of us, here is their website http://www.MadonnaAndCo.comAND If you use bb-march you can get 15% off ;)

Things Are Changing.
So as you may have noticed, I haven't been posting much here on NicoleStyle101. And honestly, my only excuse is that I'm trying to figure out with I am. I've been on this journey for 20 short/long years, and it surely took me that long to figure out who I am and what I want to do with the rest of my life.
My senior year of high school, my school basically forced all the seniors to go to college. If you decided to not take the college route, you were definitely looked down upon. I had no freaking clue what I was going to study in college because I really wanted to go to beauty school and be a professional makeup artist. I enjoy makeup more then anything when it comes to hobbies so I thought that was what I wanted to do. Growing up, if you would have asked me what "I wanted to be" everyone would have known I was going to be a teacher. I didn't play house, I played teacher. I had popsicle sticks with pretend students' names on them and I would call on the students to do the math homework on the board. Or read the next paragraph in a book. As I grew up, I had 2-3 people tell me that teaching was the WORST field to go in to.
The money sucks.
The president is making things worse.
It's too stressful.
The state is taking our money away.
The state is controlling the testing.
It's miserable.
So as I started my freshman year of college I majored in psychology. My plan was to become a counselor and help children who had a rough family life. I realized that was not 100% for me. Then I changed to nutrition. Then I changed to business. Then I changed to communications. Here's the thing, all this time I dabbled in a few of these classes from each major, and basically hated them all. During the 3 semesters I was in, I had been taking an education class each semester to fill a General Education credit. I met a friend (who is majoring in edu) who convinced me to take these classes to fill the GE credits. While taking these classes, I didn't not like them. I enjoyed them.
ANYWAYS, long story short… I've changed my major to early childhood education. It took me twenty years to finally stick up for myself and do what I want to do. I know my family supports whatever decision I make, whether it be a professional makeup artist or second grade teacher.
Here's how this all relates to my blog_____________
As I'm changing, I want to change my blog too. I, obviously, am still into makeup and fashion and fitness which is what I've been posting all along. But I want to post things related to what I learn about teaching. DIY's. Crafts. Experiences. Recipes. Organization. Just more all around life things.

3. This has been my favorite quote this weekend. I think it is very inspirational and just proves we need to put ourselves out there!
4. I love this outfit this girl is wearing. I think it is totally fall appropriate for class or a long day outdoors! Nothing better then scarves and boots!
5. This looks like a dream office to me. I love all of the white with the pops of color. Perfect, girly, and definitely inspiring!

I love this simple outfit because it's one of those that look like I spent hours planning yet I just threw together a few of my favorite pieces! Y'all know white tee shirts are my favorite thing EVER to style and pairing them with another basic is a must! This navy maxi is casual yet chic with the pockets on the side! And I love the navy paired with the dark grey scarf! Ahhhh this outfit is definitely going to be worn a lot this fall ;)

Now that classes have started back up my every day style is very casual. However I am still trying to wear my favorite summer pieces since it is still 85+ degrees outside! Change From Summer To Fall
Shirt: Rock & Rebublic
Shorts: JcPenny's
Purse: Rebecca Minkoff Cupid
Watch & Bracelet: Michael Kors
Shoes: Famous Footwear
The change from summer to fall is my absolute favorite time of year. When the September issues of fashion magazines come out and when my birthday rolls around I could not be any happier. I also love mixing fall fashion with my summer clothes while it's still warm out. In this look I paired a basic olive green top with a pair of red statement shorts that I've been wearing all summer. I love how simple yet put together the whole outfit is. Pairing the casual pieces with a nice pair of sandals and a nice bag dresses up the feel a bit with out being too over done.
I can't wait for boots and scarves, but for now I'll be pulling out some of my deep toned fall clothes to work with some of my summer favs!

A Revolutionary New Hair Tie
What could be better then a soft hair tie that doesn't crease your hair and still keeps it out of your face all day long? NOTHING. I've recently came across these gorgeous colored hair ties and I'm in love. They are from an Etsy shop named BePampered and you can find them here.
I have very long, thick hair and they keep my hair back out of my face all day! I love all the colors and designs they offer and I plan to buy more! They are pretty inexpensive and I definitely will be using these all summer long!

Have you tried any soft hair ties?

How To Style A Chevron Statement Skirt
The Flip Flops: Abercrombie
The Necklace: Wet Seal
Earrings: F21
The Watch: Michael Kors
Hey guys! Today I have an OOTD showing how I style a statement chevron skirt. I did a whole YouTube video about this topic and if you have not seen it, you can check that out HERE.
I absolutely adore chevron and what could be better then a chevron pink skirt? This one is absolutely gorgeous and you can get it from the Etsy shop I linked above! They have amazing on trend items and I just know that if you were to order one of their skirts, it would be the talk of the town! I cannot tell you how many compliments I've gotten on it already!
When I wear a statement skirt, I like to keep everything else easy going. The white basic tee really makes the pink pop and the gold/rose gold jewelry goes well too!
I was trying to wear the outfit casual so I opted for flip flops. If you needed to dress it up you could easy add a pair of wedges!
I am absolutely in love with this outfit and it's definitely going to be one of my go to's this summer!
How do you like to wear a chevron skirt? Tell me in the comments down below!
Until next time.

Fit Tip: How To Dress For Weight Loss Success!
We all have that one pair of jeans that looked good on us 6 months ago, but we can barley fit into one leg today. Many of us are looking forward to loosing some weight and getting fit, so here's a few tips on how to dress for weight loss while you're on your way to the loss ;)
1. Dress For Today.
Don't look too far ahead when you're picking out a new outfit at the mall. Put together outfits that make you feel confident and wonderful in your own skin right nowwwww!
2. Buy Basics.
Invest in some great basic pieces and save the accent pieces for later. You should have two of your favorite every day/ go to basics. That means, two black tee's, two white cami's, two pairs of jeans. These basics can be dressed up with accessories or dressed down with casual pieces!
3. Get Clothes That Can Shrink.
Purchase items that can get smaller as you get smaller. Great choices would be materials that have great stretches to them! So once they appear to big, just throw them in the dryer and watch them shrink!
4. Accessorize.
Have a good time with the accessories that you already own! You don't have to be stick skinny to rock a gorgeous bubble necklace or diamond earrings!
5. Don't Be Afraid To Flaunt Your Form.
Don't hide under extra material!!!! Make sure your clothes fit well and accent your favorite features.
I wish you luck in your weight loss process and I want you to know that you're beautiful JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. ;)
xx Nicole

Trendy Topics: Cheetah Print
In the summer, I'm all about trendy clothing and simple clothing. I've been roaming around on Pinterest lately and I wandered upon both of these gorgeous pieces! As many of you know, I adore...ADORE.. cheetah print. It's so wild and really says something about my personality. When I saw these pieces I knew I had to share them with you... aren't they beautiful? If only I had them in my closet...

OOTD: Casual Color Blocking
As many of you know, color blocking is a HUGE trend this summer! I absolutely love it because I adore bright colors. I also love it because ANYONE can rock the trend.
I also love it because it's so simple to put together!
Blue + Yellow. Purple + Orange. Pink + Aqua. Yellow + Purple. Red + Pink. Orange + Green.
In all honestly, whatever colors you put together will turn out beautiful!
In the outfit I'm sharing today, I decided to go with a neutral, white top. However, I decided to pull some color blocking in with my bright pink shorts (JcPennys) and my bright blue bag (Target).
I want to know, are you into color blocking this season? Is it a trend you are trying out?
