Valentines Day is all about love. Whether you love your boyfriend, husband, cat, parents, Netflix or your makeup, it's about love. And one of the most important things to love is yourself. So this Valentines Day weekend, follow these five steps (or even just one) to make sure you are loving yourself and have the best Valentines Day as possible!
1. Have some healthy chocolate.
What's Valentines Day without chocolate? Heres the thing, you don't want to completely ruin your diet so go for chocolate covered blueberries, chocolate covered almonds, or even make some chocolate covered strawberries!
2. Splurge on an expensive dinner.
You don't need a date to wine and dine you.. you're old enough (and independent enough) to take yourself! I wouldn't recommend going on Vday or even the Friday or Saturday after due to all the couples and long waits, but go Sunday night and make sure you Instagram your meal to show what amazing care you're taking of yourself!
3. Go on a date you would never expect!
Volunteer for a good cause, take a spin or yoga class, anything to get you out of the house and meet new people!
4. Get rid of the negative attitude & self talk.
Valentines Day is the #1 day to love yourself. You don't need to compare your body to a VS model or your income to the girl in apt #12. Take a moment to encourage yourself with your current goals and get rid of all the superficial thoughts.
5. Drink a glass of wine.
(If you're of age, of course!)
Red wine is perfect for Valentines Day and red is the best sort of wine there is for you! Make yourself a decent meal and enjoy it or watch your favorite shows and enjoy it that way!
Whether you're going on a date this VDay or stuck at home with your cats, don't forget to love yourself. That's what it's about anyways!
